The countdown is on for a much cooler weekend
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - We have a had a less humid front move through dropping the humidity and bringing in 70s for highs.
This front is mostly a wind shift with a surge of drier air, and most of the moisture has already been pushed south and east, so it won’t bring rain.
The real cool down is on the way late Friday and Friday evening, and it locks in over the weekend.
After a few warmer days, fall lovers will like the upcoming weekend as a real fall front brings in cooler & breezy conditions. Highs will gradually fall the lower 70s Friday & Saturday to the 60s Sunday & Monday. Lows drop- lower 40s north & mid 50s south. No rain next 7 days. pic.twitter.com/6NkoZv9jps

Dewpoints will drop into the 40s, with a few spots near the upper 30s, so the air will feel crisp.
High pressure builds in from the north, which sets up a good night of radiational cooling Saturday night.
Lows will likely fall into the 40s to lower 50s for much of the area. There’s even a very slim chance a few drainage areas touch the upper 30s, so keep that in mind if you have plants or pets outside.
As of now. it looks dry for the next 5-7 days.
