COMING SOON | TERRY BLACK’S BARBECUE
2102 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78215
Terry Black’s Barbecue is bringing its Texas barbecue tradition to San Antonio with a new Broadway location opening to the public November 17, 2026. The pits never rest here: the operation runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 364 days a year, with Christmas Day the only day off. Six 1,000-gallon Moberg smokers are already set in place and fired up, and briskets have been going overnight while construction crews finish the building.
The counter lineup is built around sliced brisket, chopped beef, pork ribs and house sausage, made with trim from the brisket and pork ribs as part of a no-waste approach. Sides include mac and cheese, creamed corn, pinto beans, potato salad and coleslaw, with peach cobbler, banana pudding and chocolate pudding for dessert. The dining room leans into what the company calls a timeless atmosphere, with local photos, Pearl Brewery signs, taxidermy, local beers, and big windows looking out onto Broadway and a patio still being landscaped.

SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS
Nelson W. Wolff Stadium
Nelson W. Wolff Stadium is home to a new alter ego for the San Antonio Missions, announced for the 2027-28 season: the San Antonio Breakfast Tacos. Assistant General Manager Mickey Holt said the name kept coming back to the team through the workshopping process because it is part of the city’s culture and what people here eat every day. The branding features a little taco character, and a name for the mascot is expected to be released soon.

ON THE MENU | LAIKA CHEESECAKE AND ESPRESSO
Multiple Locations Across Texas
Laika is a Texan cheesecake and espresso company, and behind its storefronts sits a warehouse where the team turns out the cheesecakes and sweet goods that go to each location. Owner Anna Afanasieva and her team build layered cakes and jars in-house, with year-round favorites alongside a rotating set of seasonal flavors. A new location is on the way in Stone Oak on TPC Parkway, right behind In-N-Out Burger, with an announcement coming soon on social media.
The seasonal jars include a maple brulee cheesecake topped with maple brulee, a thin chocolate shell and a maple leaf. Also on the menu, a pumpkin cheesecake with pecan praline, caramel mascarpone espresso cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon and spices. By the slice, there is a pecan pie base topped with cinnamon brown sugar cheesecake, cream cheese frosting, pecan crumble and roasted pecans. There’s also a carrot cake cheesecake layered with spices, coconut and nuts, and a crown of apples baked in caramel for two hours.
