Jacksonville Beach Super Girl Surf Festival kicks off Saturday with 1,500 athletes

The Jacksonville Beach Super Girl Surf Festival, presented by Jersey Mike’s, begins this Saturday, Nov. 7, in Jacksonville Beach. The two-day event features more than 1,500 female athletes competing across 10 sports, alongside 14 free live concerts and community programming.

The World Surf League Pro Women’s Surf Competition begins Saturday at 9 a.m. Jacksonville Beach native Lanea Mons returns to compete on her home waves, with a potential rematch against Reid Van Wagoner, who recently defeated Mons to claim her first WSL Qualifying Series victory. Other competitors include two-time Super Girl cape winner Eden Walla, Virginia Beach Super Girl longboarding champion Sally Cohen and Challenger Series qualifier Bailey Turner of Huntington Beach.

Local sports organizations will offer interactive programming throughout Saturday.
