GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - A new behavioral health center in Gaston County opened this year to offer support and resources to children and adolescents.

In October 2026, Kintegra Health opened its Pediatric Behavioral Health Center in Gastonia to “specifically to meet the unique mental and emotional health needs” of children.

As Gaston County continues to grapple with opioid addiction and overdoses, the pediatric behavioral facility can provide youth mental health support and emphasize substance-use prevention.

At the new youth center, “licensed therapists provide compassionate care for concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss, substance use, behavioral challenges, and more,” Kintegra Health said.

The new behavioral health center is located on Cox Road between Lowell Road and I-85 in Gastonia. Learn more on Kintegra Health’s website here.

WBTV will be on site in November

WBTV is partnering with Gaston County to raise awareness about opioid use and resources available to community members in need.

The county is working to help people with their recovery journey, without judgement.

One resource offered by the county includes a free medication-assisted treatment program for residents dealing with opioid use disorder.

The program is run through Gaston County, and is designed to reach people in active withdrawal -- wherever they are. Click here to learn more about that program.

As part of our partnership with Gaston County, WBTV will be live from the new Kintegra Health behavioral facility in Gastonia on Tuesday, Nov. 10 with a focus on youth prevention and outreach.
