St. Louis County Animal Shelter launches ‘Tip to Tail’ billboard campaign to combat overcrowding
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis County Animal Shelter is turning to billboards to help clear kennel space and find homes for pets as it battles persistent overcrowding.
The new “Tip to Tail” campaign features billboards directing drivers to a website listing adoptable pets. Earlier this year, the county shelter in Olivette—which has an intended capacity of about 80 dogs—housed more than double that number.
Beyond boosting adoptions, shelter officials say the initiative highlights the staff’s dedication to animal welfare. Community members who are unable to adopt can still support the shelter by fostering pets or volunteering.
