Woman found guilty on manslaughter charge in death of her husband

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Shelby County jury has convicted a woman on a manslaughter charge, among others, in the 2024 shooting death of her husband.

Elita Bean has been found guilty of manslaughter and reckless endangerment in the death of her husband.

The case started with an argument over keys that escalated into a deadly shooting.

The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office said that the couple’s children witnessed the incident and made the 911 calls, which the jury heard during the trial.

Prosecutors presented testimony in court from at least four witnesses, including the victim’s mother, the reporting officer, and crime scene personnel.
