Unions representing employees of Encore Boston Harbor announced a deal Thursday to end a strike that has gone on for two months.
UNITE HERE Local 26 and Teamsters Local 25 said they ratified a new collective bargaining agreement with the casino in Everett, Massachusetts.
The union says the agreement recognizes the contributions of unionized employees and reflects a shared commitment.
Approximately 1,300 employees, including cleaning staff, cooks, waiters, bartenders, slot machine attendants, as well as warehouse and reception workers, began the strike on Sept. 4.
The group was demanding better wages and job protections after the termination of their contract with Wynn Resorts, the casino owner, which expired on Aug. 31.
The management of the Encore Boston Harbor had stated at the start of the strike that they were committed to finding a compromise that was fair, financially sustainable, and would protect employees in the long term.
