RJ reporters, editors make picks for UNLV’s football game vs. Wyoming

November 6, 2026 - 9:00 am

Las Vegas Review-Journal reporters and editors make their picks for the Rebels’ home game vs. Wyoming on Saturday at Allegiant Stadium:

Ed Graney

UNLV beat writer/columnist (5-3)

The Rebels haven’t played all that well in splitting their past two games. But if you’re going to prove good enough to win a conference title, now is the time. I think they step up.

Donovan Hicks

UNLV backup writer (5-3)

When you look at the definition of a trap game, there might be no better example than the Cowboys walking into Allegiant Stadium on Saturday. However, despite the vastly different weather conditions, the Rebels found success against Wyoming last season and should have enough in the tank to pull out a win.

Adam Hill

Raiders beat writer/columnist (6-2)

There’s very little explanation for what happened to the Rebels against Northern Illinois. Even though they found a way to win, it felt like a loss with how disappointing of an effort they put on the field, particularly in the first half. Maybe they were just looking ahead to, checks notes, Wyoming?

Sam Gordon

Raiders beat writer/columnist (3-5)

The Rebels roll their offensive momentum into their matchup with the Cowboys.

UNLV 28, Wyoming 20

Alex Wright

High school beat writer (4-4)

If UNLV had trouble with Northern Illinois last week, the Rebels are going to have their hands full with a pesky Wyoming squad.

Bill Bradley

Sports Editor (3-5)

While Jackson Arnold is looking better on connecting with his receivers, the news is not so good about the defense’s ability to stop the run. When Northern Illinois has a threatening run, then it’s a problem. And it will be a problem against Wyoming, too.

Wyoming 31, UNLV 24

Richard Bush

Assistant Sports Editor (4-4)

After UNLV’s performance last week against Northern Illinois, it would be understandable if Wyoming feels pretty confident. But the Rebels can play a lot better, and Dan Mullen knows about coaching in big games. UNLV will rise to the occasion.
