Woman dead after man sitting in car with her opens fire, police say

A woman who was fighting for her life after being shot several times has died, police say.

Atlanta police say a woman was shot several times while sitting in a car and then tossing her out of a car and trying to shoot her again.

Surveillance video from Murphy Ave. and Osborne St. show the moment the man tries to shoot her on the ground when the gun jams.

Police say as she tried to get help, he started shooting at her again.

She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but has since died from her injuries. Her name has not been released.

Investigators are asking for help identifying the man in the surveillance video.
