Beautiful fall weekend ahead: Charlotte forecast
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The showers and thunderstorms that rolled across the Piedmont this morning made a mess of the morning commute, but that rain has now moved off to the east. Clearing skies and lower humidity will result in perfect mid-autumn weather this weekend.
Rainfall totals since Wednesday range from just over a half-inch to one inch for most of the region, although the mountains picked up almost two inches. Overall, this was a beneficial rain event from a drought perspective.

Pleasant autumn weekend
Cooler and drier air is settling in for the weekend. Saturday’s temperatures will start off in the 40s and warm to the mid 60s, very close to normal for early November.
Sunday will get off to a chillier start, with lows even dropping into the upper 30s in Charlotte for the first time this season. Despite that chilly start, highs will still reach the mid to upper 60s in the afternoon.

Dry and warm to start next week
Dry weather will continue into most of next week. Temperatures Monday through Wednesday will be 5 to 7 degrees above-average, reaching the low 70s.

Another cool-down looks likely toward the end of next week, but it’s unlikely the cool air will be accompanied by any significant moisture.

Forecast at a glance
- Weekend: Lots of sun, near-normal temperatures
- Monday through Wednesday: Cool mornings, warm afternoons
- Late next week: Significantly cooler
