Another round of full lane closures for Interstate 285 this weekend

The Georgia Department of Transportation will shut down Interstate 285 lanes in Fulton County again this weekend.

All lanes will be closed between Camp Creek Parkway and Langford Parkway starting Friday at 7 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.

The work is one of two projects along I-285 westside corridor to repair or replace concrete slabs. GDOT says crews will mill and grind the concrete during the lane closures.

Drivers are being told to use routes along the Interstate 20 and the downtown connector. Other drivers may notice an increase in congestion, so GDOT says to give yourself extra time.

The next set of lane closures will be on I-285 in Cobb County Nov. 13-16.

The I-285 Westbound Rebuild project is set to be completed by 2029.
