Suspect hospitalized after being shot by deputies

One person is in the hospital after a shooting involving Georgia deputies.

Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard says the shooting happened in his jurisdiction, but involved Hall County deputies.

The shooting happened at Mincie Mountain Road and Emory Stephens Road on Friday morning.

Sheriff Jarrard did not comment on the suspect’s current condition or release that person’s identity.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office confirmed their agency was involved, but did not comment on what led up to the shooting.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says it has been called out to take over the investigation.
