Arlopu is recalling about 10,318 slide playsets after the products were found to pose head and neck entrapment hazards that could result in serious injury or death.

Why you should care:

The recalled playsets have openings large enough for a child’s torso to pass through but too small for the child’s head, creating a risk of entrapment. In addition, the basketball nets on playsets with model number KT-CS17 can detach from the rim and form a loop large enough for a child’s head, posing entanglement and strangulation hazards.

Arlopu has received one report of a child becoming entrapped in one of the playsets. The child suffered abrasions to the neck.

Dig deeper:

The recall involves Arlopu Slide Playsets with model numbers KT-CS17 and LY-31. The plastic playsets are designed for indoor or outdoor use and include a slide, basketball hoop and other activity components. They were sold in tan, red, blue, yellow, gray and green.

Model KT-CS17 is printed on a label beneath the elevated platform. Model LY-31 is printed on a label on the upper back panel behind the slide.

The playsets were sold online through Amazon.com and Walmart.com from April 2023 through August 2026 for between $90 and $130.

What you can do:

Consumers should immediately stop using the playsets and store them away from children. Arlopu is providing free repair kits containing redesigned panels, basketball hoops and installation instructions.

To receive a repair kit, consumers must email a photo of the product showing its model number to [email protected]. The company will mail the kit after receiving the photo. Once the repair is completed, consumers should mark the removed components "RECALLED" with a permanent marker and dispose of them.

Consumers can contact Arlopu at 800-657-9218 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Friday. Additional information is available at arlopu.com by clicking "Recall Information."
