Philadelphia officials announce fall edition of cleaning program

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker announced the fall edition of the recurring citywide cleaning program on Friday.

The mayor joined other city officials at the Sturgis Rec Center to announce the details.

The goal is to clean every neighborhood in the city over a 13-week period between November 2 and January 29.

City officials said crews will address the many chronic quality of life issues related to litter, illegal dumping, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, vacant lots, rodents, potholes and nuisance properties.

This is the sixth citywide cleanup in Philadelphia over the last three years.
