Bishop Gorman beats Faith Lutheran to win 5A girls volleyball state title

RENO — Bishop Gorman’s girls volleyball team defeated Faith Lutheran in four sets 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-20 to win the Class 5A state championship Friday at UNR’s Virginia Street Gym.

It’s the fourth straight 5A state title for Gorman (33-7). The Gaels are the first Nevada high school girls volleyball program to win four straight state titles in the top classification (5A/4A).

Faith Lutheran (32-8) was seeking its first girls volleyball state title since the Crusaders won three straight 3A titles from 2013 to 2015.
