Celebrate the holidays at Downtown Summerlin

It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays at Downtown Summerlin.

The season’s most festive traditions are back, with a few new surprises, bringing plenty of “merry and bright” to the heart of the Summerlin master-planned community. From Santa sightings and magical snow flurries to outdoor ice skating, holiday parades, family photos, festive train rides and opportunities to give back, Downtown Summerlin is once again the place to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

Holiday Parade presented by InTouch Credit Union

The annual Holiday Parade returns to Downtown Summerlin every Friday and Saturday evening at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 through Dec. 19 (no parade on Black Friday, Nov. 27). This beloved family tradition features new surprises and is bigger and merrier than ever this year with a new float inspired by the Polar Express, more magical snow flurries and, of course, the star of the show — the big guy himself — Santa Claus!

Santa Chalet presented by Tri Pointe Homes

Santa makes his debut at the Santa Chalet in the Macy’s Promenade, open daily from Nov. 13 through Dec. 24. Photo packages are available, starting at $39.99. Guests can take advantage of early reservation incentives and special pricing Nov. 13-25. Corporate parties and special events can reserve full chalet buyouts.

Family portraits

Professional holiday family photos are available Nov. 13-25 during the first and last hour of operating hours. Choose a session with or without Santa.

Pet Nights with Santa

Four-legged family members can get their photos with Santa, too, every Tuesday and Thursday evening Nov. 17 through Dec. 17.

Sensory Santa photos

Photos with Santa for families with sensory needs are available Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon, providing an inclusive holiday experience.

Letters to Santa — Donations to Goodie Two Shoes Foundation

Starting Nov. 13, children can drop off their letters to Santa at the Santa Chalet, and for every letter received, Downtown Summerlin will donate $1 to Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, a local nonprofit providing disadvantaged children with free shoes, socks and other essential items.

The Rock Rink presented by Lexus

Rock Rink returns Nov. 13 through Jan. 18, bringing outdoor ice skating and a full calendar of programming to Downtown Summerlin. Skate rentals are $22 with special pricing ticket options available on select dates and times throughout the season. All ages are welcome. Hours vary, appointments are encouraged, and walk-up availability is limited based on capacity. Rock Rink will host several specially programmed skate nights throughout the season. Visit Summerlin.com for the full lineup. After hitting the ice, skaters can warm up with festive beverages and seasonal treats from Sterling’s Cocoa Trailer, located near the rink.

Ice skating performances by Las Vegas Ice Theater

Las Vegas Ice Theater returns to The Rock Rink with special ice-skating performances on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m., Dec. 6 and Dec. 20 at 10:45 a.m.

Jupiter Express Holiday Train

Downtown Summerlin’s festive Jupiter Express Holiday Train offers rides near The Rock Rink and Downtown Summerlin’s dazzling 40-foot holiday tree for $7 per person (adults and kids), beginning Nov. 13.

Hanukkah with Jewish Nevada

Downtown Summerlin partners with Jewish Nevada to host a one-night Hanukkah celebration on Dec. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. The celebration will feature the lighting of the Menorah, entertainment, kids’ activities, hot cocoa and light bites. A menorah will be on display in the Dining Arroyo in celebration of Hannukah, beginning at sundown Dec. 4 through nightfall on Dec. 12.

The Giving Machine

The holiday spirit continues with the return of The Giving Machine, opening Nov. 12 through Jan. 3. The giant charitable vending machine gives visitors a fun and meaningful way to make holiday donations to local nonprofits and charitable initiatives around the world. This year’s local beneficiaries include Catholic Charities, Foster Kinship, Future Smiles, Helping Hands of Vegas Valley and Three Square. International beneficiaries include Clubfoot Solutions, African Hope for Girls and Lifting Hands International.

Don’t forget to download the Experience Pass for special offers and giveaways throughout the holiday season. For complete details, event schedules, booking information and updates on Downtown Summerlin’s holiday celebrations, visit summerlin.com.

In its 36th year of development, Summerlin offers more amenities than any other Southern Nevada community. They include 300-plus parks of all sizes; 200-plus miles of interconnected trails; resident-exclusive community centers; 10 golf courses; 25 public, private and charter schools; Roseman University School of Medicine; a public library and performing arts center; Summerlin Hospital Medical Center; houses of worship representing a dozen different faiths; office parks and neighborhood shopping centers.

Downtown Summerlin offers fashion, dining, entertainment, Red Rock Resort and Class A office buildings. City National Arena is home of the Vegas Golden Knights’ practice facility. The Las Vegas Ballpark is a world-class Triple-A baseball stadium and home of the Las Vegas Aviators.

Summerlin offers more than 130 floor plans in over 20 neighborhoods throughout seven distinct villages and districts. Homes, built by many of the nation’s top homebuilders, are available in a variety of styles — from single-family homes to townhomes, priced from the $400,000s to more than $1 million.

For information on all actively selling neighborhoods, visit Summerlin.com. Before you visit, call the builders to check hours of operation. Phone numbers for each neighborhood are listed on the website.
