Recordings by a fellow student helped nail 4 teens for beating a woman in Jax Beach after Halloween

A recorded conversation between Fletcher High School students - one of them a suspect - led to the arrests of four teens for a post-Halloween attack of a young woman in a Beach Boulevard lot.

Jacksonville Beach police reports describe the investigation that led to arrests of 16- and 17-year-old females and 16- and 18-year-old males facing felony battery charges for the attack early Sunday morning, November 1.

Police say at least one student recorded an interview with Koehn David Meazzo, the 18-year-old charged with beating 22-year-old Alexis Waters, that provided key evidence for the arrests.

In the attack, Water after leaving a popular venue Mangos at Jacksonville Beach was knocked down from behind, beaten and robbed and later treated for a broken nose and facial injuries as a result of the mob attack.

The student who recorded a conversation with Meazzo provided police with information about the attack and led police to Meazzo. Meazzo was not at Fletcher High School, and police said they later tracked him to a Dick’s Wings on Beach Boulevard after failing to spot his Lexus at his residence.

Meazzo and the other teens - not being named because of their ages - were charged with felony battery/causing great bodily harm.

Meazzo was also charged with robbery/sudden snatching - unarmed criminal mischief. The 16-year-old female was charged with possession of a controlled substance or possession with intent to use paraphernalia.

Police said when they arrested her, they discovered a ziplock bag filled with mushrooms, two vapes in her bra, and eight vapes in her purse.

All were booked into Duval County Juvenile Detention Center or Duval County Jail.
