A Venezuelan national was arrested after being found sitting in a stolen vehicle near the White House with several firearms, according to a criminal complaint and the Department of Homeland Security.
The suspect, Ronny Guanipa-Chrinos, allegedly threatened to kill President Donald Trump, according to DHS.
A Secret Service officer on patrol spotted the vehicle parked on Constitution Avenue, near the White House complex, shortly before midnight on Thursday, according to the complaint affidavit filed in D.C. Superior Court.

Firearms seized from a vehicle near the White House on Nov. 5, 2026, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

When the officer knocked on the window of the blue Ford F-150 and asked if he was OK and whether he had any weapons, Guanipa-Chrinos allegedly shook his head yes and made a finger gun gesture, according to the affidavit.
After getting out of the vehicle, he allegedly told investigators through Google Translate, "I have the gun because they tried to kill me with it, and I had to take it away from them; it's in the brown bag," according to the affidavit.
According to DHS, Guanipa-Chrinos told officers he "heard voices in his head telling him to come to Washington, D.C. and kill President Trump." The affidavit did not include those alleged remarks.
Investigators found a MAC-10 machine pistol, a Glock 43x pistol and an AR-15 rifle in the vehicle, according to the affidavit. There were also "dozens of rounds of ammunition," DHS said.
The vehicle had been reported stolen, according to the affidavit.
Guanipa-Chrinos has been charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, receiving stolen property, carrying a pistol without a license, carrying a rifle without a license and other firearms charges.
He made an initial appearance in D.C. Superior Court on Friday and remains held without bond, according to online court records.
Guanipa-Chrinos is undocumented and entered the U.S. through Texas in 2024, according to DHS.
