Conyers police officers told Channel 2 Action News they worked with school officials to investigate the claims and discovered the post originated from a threat directed at a school in Wisconsin.
Investigators say the person responsible for creating the original post was arrested in Tucson, Arizona, leading law enforcement to conclude there was no credible danger to the Georgia school.
During the response, the police department deployed School Resource Officers, its Criminal Investigations Division and the K9 Unit.
Officials also coordinated with external partners, including the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, to evaluate the situation.
