Woman found dead inside northwest Harris County apartment complex, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says

The circumstances surrounding the victim's death remain unclear, officials said.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside an apartment in northwest Harris County on Saturday morning, according to authorities.

In a post on social media, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that deputies responded to an apartment complex in the 16200 block of Clay Road.

Investigators said they discovered the deceased woman inside one of the units of the complex.

Officials said the woman appears to be in her mid-40s, but did not immediately reveal her identity.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the circumstances surrounding the woman's death are unclear. Authorities said homicide detectives and CSI responded to the scene to continue the investigation.
