Affidavit: Man arrested in connection with Southeast Side shooting
A man was arrested in connection with a Southeast Side shooting, according to an arrest affidavit.
John Massey, 32, faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Bexar County court records.
According to the affidavit, surveillance video from Nov. 1 shows a fight break out in front of a home in the 5400 block of Clark Avenue. Massey was seen on video arguing with the victim before reaching for a handgun holstered on his body.

The affidavit states the victim and a second man charged at Massey in an attempt to prevent him from drawing his weapon. A gunshot was then heard, and Massey was seen emerging from behind a parked vehicle with the firearm in his hand.
A second victim later arrived at a West Side emergency room with a gunshot wound to the stomach, the affidavit states. The second victim told officers he attended a Halloween party with Massey and said two groups of friends arrived at the location before a fight broke out between them.
The second victim said he heard a gunshot but did not realize he had been shot, according to the affidavit. He said Massey drove him to a gas station where his mother picked him up before he was taken to the hospital.
The second victim told police he has known Massey for approximately two years and positively identified him from a photo, the affidavit states.
Massey was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center and has been released on bond, records show.
