Cooler weekend with another cold front arriving next week
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - After a Friday cold front moved through southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi, a much cooler and drier air mass is settling in. Expect a comfortable weekend with lower humidity, plenty of clouds at times on Sunday and a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Sunday will bring the coolest temperatures of the season so far. Afternoon highs will struggle to reach the upper 60s under mostly cloudy skies. Breezy conditions may also make it feel a little cooler at times.
The pleasant, dry weather pattern will continue into early next week. Afternoon highs will range from the low to middle 70s. Rain chances will remain near zero for most of the area, and low humidity will stick around. The continued dry conditions are also a concern for fire danger, with burn bans remaining in place. Use caution with outdoor burning and follow local restrictions.

Looking ahead, another strong cold front is expected to move through by the end of the week.
A few light showers cannot be ruled out Wednesday and Thursday, but limited moisture will likely keep rainfall coverage low. widespread measurable rain is not expected at this time. Temperatures will remain mild ahead of the front, with highs in the middle to upper 70s Wednesday and Thursday. Once the front moves through, northerly winds will usher in another round of cooler, drier air.
By Friday, highs will struggle to climb out of the 60s for much of the area. Overnight temperatures will drop into the 40s across the north shore and 50s closer to the coast. Some overnight lows across the north shore could dip into the upper 30s.
While there is still some uncertainty surrounding just how cool temperatures will get, the overall pattern favors cooler and drier conditions heading into the end of next week.
