All lanes of I-485 outer near Rocky River Road close due to crash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A crash in Northeast Charlotte closed all lanes of I-485 outer past exit 36 near Rocky River Road Saturday.

The crash was reported at 4:30 p.m. according to the state’s traffic map.

The crash involved a semi truck and a car. Both vehicles showed signs of fire damage.

Medic says one person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Lane closures have caused traffic backups for miles, impacting secondary roads too. Traffic has flowed through the shoulder of the road.

State Highway Patrol tells WBTV they are waiting on tow trucks to take the semi truck away.
