The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning parents about a countertop baby bottle and breast pump parts sterilizer and dryer because of a risk that it can overheat and cause burns.

Big picture view:

The recall involves roughly 29,000 SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer with model numbers BRZ0083, BRZ0154 and BRZ0156. The model number is printed on the product label located on the bottom of the unit, the CPSC says.

They were sold at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s stores nationwide and online at babybrezza.com, target.com and babylist.com from January 2024 through October of this year for between $160 and $180.

The units are designed to sterilize and dry baby bottles, breast pump parts and accessories, but Baby Brezza Enterprises, which issued the recall, received 32 reports of the dryers overheating or the plastic housing melting. No injuries have been reported, CPSC says.

What you can do:

The CPSC is urging customers who have one of the recalled units to stop using it immediately and contact Baby Brezza Enterprises for a free replacement sterilizer dryer, including shipping at no cost to the customer.

They can call Baby Brezza Enterprises at 888-527-9824 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email [email protected], or visit the company’s recall page for more information.

Customers will be asked to register online at babybrezza.com and complete a recall form, unplug the unit and cut the power cord to destroy it and upload photos.
