First Alert: Warmer start to the week before showers and a big cold snap next weekend
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - We are giving you the First Alert for a stretch of sunny, mild weather followed by a big change: A cold front could bring showers Thursday and send temperatures lower for the weekend.

Sunday will be sunny, with Charlotte temperatures climbing to around 70 degrees. Clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to fall to around 40 degrees Sunday night. Frost is possible in portions of the area, particularly along the I-40 corridor, so consider protecting sensitive plants before bed.

Warmer through midweek
Monday will bring more sunshine, with temperatures near 70 degrees. Frost could return along the I-40 corridor Monday night, even as the Charlotte area falls to around 40 degrees.

Tuesday and Wednesday will stay mild, with temperatures around 70 degrees. The weather should remain dry through much of Wednesday, making it a good window for outdoor plans.
First Alert for late-week changes
Here is your First Alert for Thursday: An approaching cold front could bring afternoon showers, with a 30% chance of rain in Charlotte. Temperatures should reach around 70 degrees before the front moves through Thursday night.
