Investigation underway after girl dies in Homestead, deputies say

An investigation is underway after a girl died in Homestead on Saturday, deputies said.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, at around 3:30 p.m., Homestead Police arrived in the area of Suncrest Avenue and Northwest Ninth Court for a medical call.

Deputies said that a girl was found who needed medical attention, and after performing lifesaving measures, she was pronounced dead.

The girl’s age was not released, nor was the cause of death.

MDSO said an investigation remains active.
