Mississippi man accused of attempted murder after shooting at Slidell-area home, authorities say
ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WVUE) - A Mississippi man stands accused of attempted murder after allegedly shooting a man he found with a woman at a Slidell-area home, authorities said.
George Goetz of Waveland, 40, was to be booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on one count of attempted second-degree murder, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said Sunday (Nov. 8).
The agency did not elaborate on the circumstances of the shooting or Goetz’s relationship to the couple he confronted Sunday around 2 a.m. at a residence in the 200 block of Military Road. Deputies said only that Goetz found a “female acquaintance” there with another man.
“Following a brief interaction, Goetz reportedly produced a firearm and shot the other man,” the STPSO said in a statement.
The victim was taken for hospital treatment, but authorities did not disclose his condition or injuries.
