Mike Tirico won't call Bears-Bucs game because of health issue
NBC announcer Mike Tirico will not, in fact, call his 300th NFL game Sunday night.
Tirico said in a statement released around noon Sunday that a health issue will prevent him from calling the Buccaneers-Bears game at Soldier Field. Noah Eagle will take his place alongside color analyst Cris Collinsworth and sideline reporter Melissa Stark.
“I look forward to watching tonight and can’t wait to be back with Cris, Melissa and the rest of our SNF team next Sunday night in Cincinnati,” he said.
Tirico has called NFL games for 20 years and has been the play-by-play announcer on NBC’s Sunday night broadcast since 2022. He’s called 299 regular season and playoff NFL games.

Eagle won’t have to travel far — was the play-by-play announcer for NBC’s broadcast of Notre Dame’s win against No. 1 Miami on Saturday night in South Bend, Ind.
The Bears-Bucs game kicks off at 7:20 p.m.
